On the Hero's Journey spread: " When reading your comments I got chills and just kept saying wow over and over. This has been really tremdous. And I also must thank you because I was considering taking a plot thread out of the story but have decided that I really shouldn't now that I've read your comments. They really did help me visual my plot as it relates to Vaughn.
I'm totally jazzed about writing this story now.
Thank you! I've told everyone how awesome this experience was!"

I'm so grateful for that class--you can't imagine how indispensable the Hero's Journey spread has been for me. It's given me some amazing breakthroughs, and it was instrumental in writing my last outline for a proposal.

It's almost eerie when I look back and think, wow, if I hadn't pulled that card, the novel might have taken an entirely different turn. --Jeri Smith-Ready, Spellbinding Fiction for the Heart, Mind, and Soul EYES OF CROW, November 2006, Luna Books http://www.jerismithready.com

On the Pen And Paper Spread:

Thanks for a truly amazing reading. So 'on target' it's incredible.

I've been reading Tarot, non-professionally (for friends or myself) for over 20 years, and this is the first time I've had a professional reading. -- e

"The reading really spoke to me! I am terrified of failure so I do hold back quite a bit. Stress is a major factor in my life both professionally (the day job) and personally (my mother is ill) and I'm working on my responses to triggers -- so the Five of Swords really makes sense. So does the Nine of Swords!!! :o) I'm putting this right next to the computer as a reminder for whenever I feel like pulling back!" -- ST

On the Chakra Spread: I wanted to tell you again how much your reading has changed my perspective. I have always been very skeptical of things that to me seem to have no foundation in reason or logic. I was skeptical, curious at best. But the very first card you pulled was so dead on and as you started to explain myself to me, my experiences and what has made me who I am and led to the situations I now find myself in, well, all I could do was cry. Every card that revealed itself after that was very accurate and one card in particular was surprising. I knew that the Ace of Cups was in there because I do feel that way in my heart of hearts, but I never speak of it, because of the fear. I’ve begun to make some of the changes we spoke of and I think that my foundation is beginning to change. I will strive to be the Seeker of Swords that revealed itself to me. ~ cm

"I don't know how you did it, but you hit things that I have been trying to ignore. Now I know I can't!" -- D.J.

On the Bagua Map Spread: "I enjoyed the reading and thank you so much! You have given me the wisdom that I was seeking and made me realize that my decision to move [was] not the end of world." - KY

"Wow. No problems at all. But may I say again? Wow. First please accept a big THANK YOU!!! =) I don't think I told you that much on the phone. I remember being rather vague actually. Everything you say is correct." - PPC

On the Three Card Spread: "Some of it is just uncanny - especially the parts about how I've been feeling in my job lately and how I want to be able to see the results of my work." - CH

Anywho, I wanted to drop you a note and say thank you for the tarot reading. I've been thinking about it and it ties in with what has been happening in my life recently. I have felt the need for a better relationship with myself and I do need to take the time to do that. I have also got to re-examine my own personal principles and make some decisions about which of those work for me, and which don't, and modify them accordingly. So yes -- thank you! The spread has truly helped me to gain some perspective." -- HKW

"Thank you so much, Arwen! I think this is right on the money. I am dying to ask one question, though: how did you know the hair colors? That took me by surprise. :)" - KP

On The Muse of Inspiration Spread: What a wonderful reading! Thank you so much. Tarot never ceases to amaze me, and you were really spot-on with your interpretations (especially The Moon). Several of these cards have been popping up in my readings over and over--it was like seeing old friends, lol. ... there were some very encouraging cards in here--it was a much-needed boost.

On the One Card Reading: "heartfelt thanks for the reading which is so to the point it took my breath away." -- PN

Specialized Spread: As I read this and think about the story, the whole "theme" is emerging and I think I can "save" it with minor revision and some focused time. This has helped. ... Thank you so very, very much. I'll probably read this A LOT more and think about it... - RSC

Return Clients: "You read two for me. One personal, and I can't believe how close you came to my life. The other was on my characters in an ms. Again, I was in awe at how close you came to describing their personalities without knowing them. I have never been a believer of tarot, horoscopes, numbers, or anything like it, but I do have more respect for tarot card reading than I used to. Amazing! -- Ginny

Arwen Beck did two readings for me. The first one was to help me with the characters in my book. After she did the reading, there was a lot to take in so I put it aside for a while. One of the things she had said was my hero’s mentor was somebody old, but he wasn’t. At the time he was the hero’s cousin. Almost a year later I forgotten the things she told me. Or so I thought. I completely revised the book and who do think became his mentor? And old man, his steward. When I looked back at everything she had told me it all fit into place. I might have saved myself about six revisions if I hadn’t put the reading aside. With my next book I will get a reading on my characters again, and this time I will follow it like a character arc.

The second reading was personal. I wanted to know if I’d should approach a particular agent. I was moderating her workshop. The tarot cards said I would meet two agents the next day. One would be open to me and the other would be cold. I did meet two agents the next day and luckily the one I wanted to approach was really nice to me. She requested a partial. The other agent I met was at lunch and I didn’t get a very friendly feeling from her. She also requested partials from everyone at the table, but I didn’t send one. I knew she wasn’t someone I felt I could work with.

I recommend Arwen’s Tarot reading highly. I can’t wait to do it again. -- Judy Soifer

On Parties: Again, thank you for doing the party; you did a great job and there is still a lot of buzz. - JJ
